The Koblivska community has reduced rates for centralized water supply and wastewater services for residents by 50 percent.
The Koblivka Village Council’s executive committee adopted the corresponding decision during a meeting. The new rates are set to take effect on November 1.
According to Valery Shtyk, a representative of the municipal utility, the issue of revising the rates arose following a previous meeting of the executive committee and a session of the village council. Community residents raised concerns about the financial burden on the population, so an initiative group was formed with the participation of community representatives, council members, and veterans.
Following the discussion, it was decided to reduce water supply and wastewater disposal rates for residents by 50%. From now on, centralized water supply will cost 35 hryvnias, and wastewater disposal will cost 26 hryvnias. It was also noted that the waste collection rate will remain unchanged at 46 hryvnias and 98 kopecks.
During the meeting, participants also discussed potential challenges with water supply in the event of prolonged power outages. Due to limited fuel reserves and the generators’ capacity to ensure uninterrupted system operation, this could prove difficult. Among the options considered was providing water on a scheduled basis—on a town-by-town basis. However, a final schedule was not approved during the meeting.
