Water prices will rise from the new year, but not for everyone

Tariffs for centralized water supply and centralized sewerage for consumers of all categories, except for the population, will change on January 1, 2025.

According to the press service of Infoksvodokanal, this is due to the resolution of the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities of December 24. From now on, the following tariffs for centralized water supply and centralized sewerage will be set for certain categories of consumers.

Thus, centralized water supply to consumers who are business entities (licensees) in the field of centralized water supply and sewerage will cost UAH 10.9 per cubic meter. For other consumers, except for households, water will cost UAH 25.8 per cubic meter.

Centralized sewerage will be charged at a higher rate:

At the same time, tariffs for centralized water supply and sewerage for the population have not changed and are applied at the level of tariffs as of February 24, 2022: for centralized water supply - UAH 14.9, for centralized sewerage - UAH 14.4.

Meanwhile, the debt of the population of Odesa to the enterprises of the fuel and energy complex, namely monopolists, as of August 1, 2024, reached UAH 2.1 billion. Moreover, Odesa residents owe UAH 223.9 million for water supply and sewerage to the Infoksvodokanal branch.

Earlier, Opendatabot analysts calculated that the number of utility debtors in the South of Ukraine totals 49,515 consumers . Debts for utilities have increased by a third since the start of the full-scale invasion.
