Wage arrears in the Odesa region have reached 382 million

As of September 1, 2026, the total amount of wage arrears in the Odesa region stood at 382 million 558 thousand hryvnias. The lion’s share of this amount—80.2%—consists of debts that had accumulated in previous years.

This was reported by the Main Statistics Office in the Odesa region. 

The largest amounts of unpaid wages were recorded in the Odesa District. Enterprises and institutions there owe their employees 356 million 943 thousand hryvnias, which accounts for 93.3% of the total debt across the entire region. Of this amount, 287 million 150 thousand hryvnias (80.4%) represents arrears from previous periods.

In the Izmail district, wage arrears total 12,129,000 hryvnias (3.2% of the regional total), of which 6,915,000 hryvnias (57%) were accrued in previous years.

In the Berezivka District, employees have not been paid 4,710,000 hryvnias (1.2% of the total debt). Almost the entire debt (4,546,000 hryvnias) was accrued in previous years.

In the Bolhrad District, the debt totals 4,205,000 hryvnias (1.1% of the regional total), and it consists entirely of arrears from previous years.

In the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi District, the wage arrears total 3,117,000 hryvnias (0.8% of the total amount), of which 3,101,000 hryvnias (99.5%) are from previous years.

In the Podilskyi District, the wage arrears amount to 1,454,000 hryvnias (0.4% of the total), of which 977,000 hryvnias (67.2%) are from previous years.

In the Rozdilnyanskyi District, as of early September, there were no outstanding wage arrears whatsoever.

As previously reported by Intent, over the first 8 months of 2026, 260 cases were filed in the Odesa regionto recover wage arrears. This ranks fifth among the regions, following the Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv, and Sumy regions.
