Vodka is running out in Crimea: stores are selling off their remaining stock

A number of stores in occupied Crimea are experiencing a shortage of vodka and other hard liquor. Retailers attribute this to disruptions in supplies from Russia due to transportation difficulties, and some retail chains are already preparing to close.

This was reported by Krym.Realii, citing its own correspondent in Feodosia.

According to the publication, the alcohol shelves at stores in the “Yida–Voda” chain operating in Crimea are nearly empty. Store employees say that previously, products were shipped from Krasnodar Krai, but now there are delivery problems.

According to salespeople, trucks can no longer use the Kerch Bridge, and the alternative route is considered dangerous, which is why some carriers are refusing to make the trips.

At another retail chain, “Drink,” as stated in the article, management decided to sell off remaining alcohol stocks without raising prices, after which it would close certain retail locations. At the same time, alcohol is still being sold in large supermarkets, but the selection has become smaller and prices have gone up.

Krym.Realii also reports that problems have arisen not only with hard liquor. According to representatives of the wine industry, the tourist season on the peninsula has been slow, and exporting Crimean wine outside occupied Crimea has been complicated by logistical problems.

According to retailers, demand for vodka has risen sharply recently, and customers often buy two or three bottles at a time. At the same time, as the publication notes, the average price per liter of vodka in occupied Crimea has risen from 905 to 1,009 rubles since the beginning of the year.

Recently, a state of emergency was declared in occupied Alushta due to prolonged power outages. Some areas have been without electricity for more than 48 hours. 

Yevpatoria andSaki have also been left completely without power.Vitaly Oganesyan, the Russian-controlled mayor of Yevpatoria, noted that the villages of Mirne, Zaozernoye, and Novoozernoye have also been left without power. It is known that the lack of electricity has caused water supply problems. Water is being supplied at minimal pressure.
