Additional funding is needed to overhaul the shelter in Zelenyi Yar. So far, local authorities have allocated only 5% of the required UAH 14 million.
This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations with reference to the DREAM ecosystem.
In the village of Zelenyi Yar, Mykolaiv region, it is planned to overhaul the radiation shelter in the basement of the local lyceum. The project envisages the creation of a modern and safe shelter that will meet all civil protection standards.
As part of the work, the shelter will be restored, utility networks will be updated, and conditions for people with limited mobility will be arranged. In particular, the project provides for
The total project budget is ₴13.8 million. However, currently, confirmed funding is only 5% of the required amount, namely UAH 690.8 thousand from the local budget. Additional investments are needed to fully implement the project.
According to the description, the implementation of this project will ensure uninterrupted access to education under martial law and create a safe space for students and teachers. In addition, the modernization of the shelter will have a positive impact on the economic development of the community and will be part of the overall development strategy of the region. The estimated duration of the project is 7 months.
Preparations are also underway to overhaul the shelter of another educational institution. Almost a million hryvnias out of some nine have already been allocated from the local budget for the repair of the protective structure of Kryvoozersky Lyceum No. 1. The project envisages modernization of the anti-radiation shelter, which will allow for a continuous educational process even in wartime.
In addition, major repairs are planned for the premises and the radiation shelter of the Kobzartsivska Primary School with a preschool unit of the Snihuriv City Council. The total budget for these works exceeds UAH 25 million.
