The Ukrainian Defense Forces have struck a submarine and a S-400 anti-aircraft missile system of Russian troops in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

This was reported by the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Thus, according to confirmed information, yesterday the units of the missile forces, in cooperation with the units of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, significantly damaged four launchers of the Triumph air defense missile system.

The S-400 Triumph is a Russian long- and medium-range surface-to-air missile system (SAM) that was put into service in 2007. It is designed to defeat all modern and advanced means of air and space attack - reconnaissance aircraft, strategic and tactical aircraft, tactical, operational and tactical ballistic missiles, medium-range ballistic missiles, hypersonic targets, jammers, radar surveillance and guidance aircraft, and others.

Also, in the port of Sevastopol, a submarine of the Russian Black Sea Fleet "Rostov-on-Don" was successfully hit.

As a result of the hit, the boat sank on the spot.

The B-237 Rostov-on-Don submarine (Kilo class according to NATO classification) is one of four Kilo class submarines capable of using Kalibr missiles. "Rostov-on-Don was commissioned on December 26, 2014.

On September 13, 2023, the vessel was severely damaged by a Ukrainian missile attack.

It was subsequently repaired and tested in the waters of Sevastopol Harbor. The cost of the submarine is estimated at $300 million.

"The destruction of the Rostov-on-Don once again proves that there is no safe place for the Russian fleet in the Ukrainian territorial waters of the Black Sea," the General Staff emphasized.

Earlier, Ukrainian Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk said that the last Russian patrol ship had left Crimea.

Before that, Vice Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa said in an interview with Reuters that the occupiers were losing the naval center in Crimea. Thus, the Russian Black Sea Fleet was forced to relocate almost all of its combat-ready ships from the occupied Crimea to other locations, and its main naval center is becoming ineffective due to attacks from Kyiv.

Oleksiy Neizhpapa also said that Ukrainian missile and naval drone attacks have caused serious damage to the base in Sevastopol, which is a logistics center for repair, maintenance, training and ammunition storage, as well as performing other important functions for Russia.
