On April 1, the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked the command post of Russian troops near the temporarily occupied Oleshky in Kherson region. A Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jet used two GBU-62 JDAM-ER precision-guided bombs to hit the facility near the village of Nechaeve. Kherson and frontline settlements continue to suffer from constant shelling, and since the beginning of 2024, Russians have launched dozens of missiles, drones, and bombs, causing large-scale destruction, including the undermining of the Kakhovka Dam. Despite this, about 25% of residents remain in the city, supporting each other.
