Ukrainian drones delivered humanitarian aid to the occupied town of Oleshky

The Ukrainian military carried out an operation to deliver food to civilians in the temporarily occupied town of Oleshky. Using drones, approximately 4,000 kilograms of food were dropped simultaneously at 100 designated locations throughout the town.

This was reported by Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.

The operation was carried out in coordination with the 30th Marine Corps Corps, the “Grim” Tactical Group, the 34th“Borysfen” Marine Brigade, the “Bolgarichi” unit of the 11th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, the 34th Regiment of the National Guard, and the 79th Border Guard Detachment.

Food has been delivered to Oleshky in this manner since March. Drones fly over the Dnipro River into the occupied city. Meanwhile, the Russians are constantly trying to disrupt the aid efforts. They shoot down drones carrying provisions and confiscate or resell food intended for children and the elderly. For receiving humanitarian aid packages, the occupiers detain Oleshky residents, throw them “into the basement,” brutally beat them, and resort to violence.

There are currently about 2,000 civilians in occupied Oleshky. Among them are nearly 50 children. 

As previously reported by Intent, Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Michael O’Flaherty called for an immediate local ceasefire in occupied Oleshky. He emphasized the urgent need to provide the civilian population with food and medicine, as well as to open a safe corridor for the evacuation of people.
