Kateryna Osadcha called for assistance in evacuating people from the occupied town of Oleshky

TV host Kateryna Osadcha recorded a video message regarding the critical situation in the temporarily occupied town of Oleshky in the Kherson region. She urged the public not to ignore the civilian residents and to do everything possible to assist in their evacuation.

She posted the video on social media. 

In the video, Kateryna Osadcha spoke in English about the occupation of the town, noting that there (in the Oleshky community—ed.) are currently about 6,000 people remaining, including 200 children. The TV host pointed out that the residents of Oleshky are currently dying from starvation and a lack of medical care.

“We must do everything in our power to ensure that Russia allows people to be evacuated,” she said.

As previously reported by Intent, musician and frontman of the band “Okean Elzy” Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, called on Ukrainian and foreign journalists to draw attention to the tragic situation in the occupied town of Oleshky in the Kherson region, where more than 1,500 people are trapped.

According to Vakarchuk, among those trapped are the elderly, the seriously ill, and even children. For five months now, it has been virtually impossible to evacuate them from there. 

The musician called on Ukrainian and foreign journalists to draw attention to the situation in Oleshky and not to let the town disappear from the news.

Oleshky, in the Kherson region, which is occupied by Russian forces, is under a humanitarian blockade. The last food shipment arrived in late May. Local residents are starving, and Russian troops are not allowing them to leave the city.
