The Housing and Utilities Department of the Izmail City Council has started looking for a contractor for large-scale road repairs on the outskirts of the city with a total length of 2 kilometers. The works are planned to be financed by the end of October 2031.

This was reported by Intent with reference to the public procurement website Prozorro.

The contract value is limited to UAH 173.55 million. The service provider will be paid in stages each year, divided into approximately equal amounts. The source of funding is the local budget. The estimated time to complete the planned scope of work is 13 months.

The road will be overhauled in the following areas: along Osnova, Aerodromna, Zaliznychna streets, along Bolgradske highway - from Zaliznychna street to Stantsiynyi Selytsiy, along Fortechna street - from Stantsiynyi Selytsiy to the memorial sign in honor of the city residents who died during World War II in 1939-1945.

The auction will take place on April 23. According to the terms of the contract, the repaired roads should serve for at least 10 years. During the inspection of the future repair area, experts found a number of pavement defects: cracks, potholes, and in some places the roadside is lowered. In some areas, the pavement has been destroyed over the entire width of the roadway.

There are no sidewalks, road markings or signs. Ditches will be arranged along the road to drain water after precipitation. The customer received a positive expert report from Ukrderzhbudekpertiza in Odesa region in the fall of 2024.

The project involves the construction of new road pavement, asphalt concrete junctions and driveways, roadside reinforcement, asphalt sidewalks and pedestrian paths on both sides of the road, and tactile tile areas. The road markings will be made of cold plastic.

Bus stops with pavilions will be arranged for local residents. The exterior lighting will not be updated, as it is in good condition.

In addition, a water supply pipeline will be replaced and water lines will be relocated on Bolgradske Highway. Old water wells will be dismantled and 28 new ones will be built instead. Nine fire hydrants and five rainwater inlets will be installed.

According to the project, the overhaul will increase the road's capacity, reduce transportation costs and passenger travel time.

Also in March, the Housing and Communal Services Department of the Izmail City Council signed a contract without a tender for the current repair of the sewer collector on Kopana Balka in Izmail. The works were valued at over UAH 16 million.
