A 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old girl who were deprived of parental care were returned to the territory controlled by Ukraine from the temporarily occupied Kherson region. Since the beginning of 2024, 203 children from the Kherson region have been returned to the territory controlled by Ukraine.

This was announced by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administrative Office Oleksandr Prokudin.

According to the head of the department, specialists will work with them to provide the necessary medical, psychological, humanitarian and social assistance.

The official said in a post that each return is a separate special operation that requires extraordinary efforts. This time, the charity organization Save Ukraine was involved in the rescue of Ukrainian citizens.

Prokudin also added that since the beginning of 2024, 203 children from the Kherson region have been returned to the government-controlled territory of Ukraine.

Earlier it was reported that in early September another Ukrainian family was returned from the temporarily occupied Kherson region. The family is raising two boys and a girl, aged 12 to 16. Fearing that the children would be taken to an orphanage, the parents were forced to send them to a Russian school. There, the so-called "teachers" brainwashed the children with Russian propaganda. So the parents decided to move to the territory controlled by Ukraine.

It was also mentioned that at the end of August , five more families with children were returned from the temporarily occupied Kherson region to the territory controlled by Ukraine. These families are raising eight children. These are five boys and three girls, aged 6 to 14. This is not the first return of families with children from the temporarily occupied Kherson region in August. It was reported that six more families were evacuated from the temporarily occupied communities of Kherson region to the government-controlled territory. These families are raising two boys and four girls. The children are between the ages of 3 and 12.
