According to Fevzi Yavuzilmaz, head of the Kastamonu provincial health department, four crew members were injured with varying degrees of severity. Doctors found that the injuries were caused by debris.

One of the victims required surgery to install a drainage tube in his chest. Two of the fishermen escaped with minor injuries, while the condition of two others is assessed as more serious. All the victims were provided with emergency aid and further treatment was organized in medical institutions.

The rescue operation involved 18 medical workers and specialists from the Turkish National Medical Rescue Team. After the evacuation was completed, the BURAK KAYA returned to the port of Inebolu.

Also on the night of May 29, the enemy attacked the ANT bulk carrier, which was flying the Vanuatu flag and was sailing from one of the ports of Odesa region to Turkey with cargo on board.
