SBI officers are investigating the circumstances under which the conscript was injured.

The news was published on the website of the State Bureau of Investigation.

On July 14, 2025, during mobilization activities in Mykolaiv, employees of the District Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support of Mykolaiv Oblast may have exceeded their official authority and beaten a man of military age who was wanted.

Criminal proceedings have already been initiated under Part 5 of Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of power or authority by a military official, which caused grave consequences).

The article provides for up to 12 years in prison.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

Procedural guidance is provided by the Mykolaiv Specialized Defense Prosecutor's Office of the Southern Region.

The State Bureau of Investigation and the Security Service of Ukraine also detained law enforcement officers and an official of the territorial recruitment center in Odesa region on suspicion of receiving money from those wishing to evade military service.

Two Odesa residents were served with suspicion notices of extortion and obtaining an unlawful benefit for influencing the decision-making of a person authorized to perform state functions.

There are different ways to make money. Thus, four offenders posed as employees of the TCC. They detained people of military age and promised to "influence the decision" in exchange for certain money.
