The Ukrainian Armed Forces killed the commander of a Russian artillery regiment in the Kherson region

Ukrainian military forces killed Russian Armed Forces Colonel Alexander Isaev in the Kherson region. He defected to Russia in 2014 and later took part in the war against Ukraine.

This information is reported on the website of the project “Book of the Executioners of the Ukrainian People.”

According to the project, Isaev was killed by an FPV drone strike on September 19. At the time of his death, he was commanding the 8th Artillery Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces (military unit 87714), which was operating in the coastal tactical sector as part of the “Dnipro” military group.

Oleksandr Isaev was a native of Mykolaiv. He had served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine since 1992.

In 2014, Isaev held the position of chief of staff—first deputy commander—of the 406th Separate Brigade of the Coastal Artillery Group of the Ukrainian Navy’s Coastal Defense Forces Center. At that time, he defected to Russia.

After that, Isaevwas appointed Chief of Staff and Deputy Commander of the 8th Artillery Regiment of the 22nd Army Corps of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

The platform adds that in 2015, he was discharged to the reserve.

In October 2022, Isaev returned to military service and participated in the war against Ukraine. In September 2024, he was appointed commander of the 8th Artillery Regiment and promoted to the rank of colonel.

As previously reported by Intent, the Ukrainian military also eliminated Russian National Guard Lieutenant Colonel Lyubov Ponomareva, who had come from Russia’s Kirov Oblast to serve in the occupied Kherson region. The Unmanned Systems Forces struck the base in the village of Strilkove on August 24.

Ponomareva is originally from the village of Oparino in Russia’s Kirov Oblast. Before joining the security forces, she was a teacher and later worked in the administration of a local municipal district.
