The tricolor of the Russian Federation was painted on European Square in Odesa

In Odesa, unknown persons painted a Russian flag on the pedestal left after the demolition of the monument to Catherine II on European Square.

According to the press service of the National Police in Odesa region, law enforcement officers are already establishing the circumstances of the incident.

In the morning, on May 16, the police received a report from a passerby that one of the fragments of the pedestal in the middle of the square was painted with colors similar to the flag of the aggressor country, and one of the memorial photos was contaminated.

"Officers of the territorial police unit are currently working at the scene. Measures are being taken to identify the person involved in the incident. It will be legally classified after all the circumstances are clarified," the statement said.
