The son of the head of the commercial court was detained in the Odesa region for helping someone evade military service

<span><span><span><span><span><span>Three people suspected of organizing a scheme to illegally discharge military personnel from service were detained in the Odesa region. Among those arrested are the son of the head of the regional commercial court and two former officials from the Territorial Military Commissariat and the Military Registration and Enlistment Office.</span></span></span></span></span></span>

<span><span><span><span><span><span>The criminal scheme was based on findings by the military medical commission (MMC) regarding alleged poor health. To obtain such documents, the detainees made arrangements with the secretary of the local commission. Clients were given fictitious inpatient treatment, followed by the recording of fake diagnoses. The cost of the “package” of documents was 15,000 U.S. dollars.</span></span></span></span></span></span>

Earlier in<span><span><span><span><span><span> Mykolaiv, a scheme involving the illegal departure of men for $7,500 was uncovered. The suspect</span></span></span></span></span></span>, together with his mother, organized a scheme to smuggle people to Moldova via the so-called “green corridor.” 

<span><span><span><span><span><span>In the Odesa region, a nurse avoided prison for falsifying medical certificates. According to </span></span></span></span></span></span>the case file, she was a member of a criminal group organized by a trauma surgeon and his accomplice—a cardiologist who headed the expert team responsible for assessing a person’s functional capacity.  

The senior nurse served as the medical registrar and chief intermediary: she sought out clients, coordinated the transfer of money, and facilitated the forgery of documents. Investigators documented how the group arranged fictitious disability status for three clients in exchange for $1,300, $1,500, and $900. But then they demanded $3,000 from one client, who subsequently reported the matter to law enforcement.
