Since the beginning of 2025, passengers have used Mykolaiv's electric public transport (trams and trolleybuses) more than 11 million times.

This became known from the analytics of Mykolaivelectrotrans.

The growth in passenger traffic is confirmed by the dynamics: if at the beginning of the year the number of trips amounted to 1 million 57 thousand, in September this figure reached more than 1 million 446 thousand. According to the utility company, the growth in the number of rides is due to the expansion of the route network and the improvement of public transport.

Over the past two years, the number of trolleybus routes in Mykolaiv has doubled from 6 to 12. Some of them were opened to connect with remote areas of the city where electric transport did not previously run. Recently, the executive committee of Mykolaiv City Council approved the updated network, which included two new routes, #11 and #12.

Mykolaivelectrotrans adds that to improve efficiency and promptly adjust schedules, all routes use an automatic passenger counting system that helps track the actual flow of passengers.

On August 9, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark to Ukraine Ole Egberg Mikkelsen visited Mykolaiv to personally hand over 9 new trolleybuses with a range of up to 20 km.

The new trolleybuses were purchased in cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development with the financial support of the Danish Government. Earlier, Mykolaiv had already received 9 trolleybuses as part of this cooperation, so the total rolling stock of Mykolaivelectrotrans has already been replenished with 18 vehicles. Thanks to the new trolleybuses, two new routes were opened in the city's Korabelny district on August 18.
