The Mykolaiv region recorded one of the highest rates of business growth in Ukraine over the past year

The Odesa region ranked among the top five in terms of the number of new companies, while the Mykolaiv region recorded one of the fastest growth rates in business registrations in Ukraine.

These are the findings of a study by YC.Market analysts based on the results of the second quarter of 2026.

According to the study, 539 new companies were registered in the Odesa region between April and June, placing the region fourth in Ukraine behind Kyiv, Lviv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

In addition, compared to the first quarter of this year, the Odesa region demonstrated the highest growth rate among the leading regions. The number of new registrations increased from 397 to 539, or by 36%.

At the same time, the Mykolaiv region was among the regions with the highest annual growth rates for new companies. Over the course of the year, the number of registrations rose from 141 to 190, representing a 35% increase. Based on this indicator , the region ranked among the country’s leaders .

In total, 8,080 new companies were registered in Ukraine during the second quarter of 2026, while 741 companies ceased operations. As is traditional, the largest number of new businesses were established in Kyiv— 2,754 companies, or 34% of the total.

The top five regions with the highest number of new companies also included Lviv Oblast (705), Dnipropetrovsk Oblast (647), Odesa Oblast (539), and Kyiv Oblast (534). Together, they accounted for nearly two-thirds of all new business registrations in the country.

Compared to the second quarter of 2025, the number of new companies increased in 19 regions of Ukraine. The largest growth was recorded in Chernihiv, Zakarpattia, Ternopil, Mykolaiv, and Volyn regions. In contrast, a decline in registrations was observed, in particular, in Sumy and Zaporizhzhia regions.
