The heads of the Peresypskyi District Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support, who have been suspended from their duties, continue to report for duty but do not perform their official duties due to their suspension.
This was reported at a meeting of the temporary investigative commission in the Verkhovna Rada by Volodymyr Cheban, deputy head of psychological support for personnel at the Odesa Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support.
He noted that the suspended officers do not receive full pay—they are paid only the salary corresponding to their rank and length of service. He also noted that there were no specific complaints regarding the military personnel of the Peresyp Territorial Center who were detained on April 21.
On April 21, the heads of the Peresyp Regional TCC and SP were suspended from duty after Security Service of Ukraine officers detained three military personnel from this TCC and a police officer for extorting money from citizens. If the victims refused, they used violence and threatened to send them to the front lines as part of assault units.
According to the case file, all of this took place in the TCC’s official minibus, where the victims were dragged by force. SBU officers, together with special forces, detained all members of the group during another crime—when they kidnapped a local resident and demanded money from him. If found guilty, the military personnel face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
During the arrest, the suspects physically resisted law enforcement officers. SBU special forces were forced to use their weapons, firing at the tires of the vehicle in which the group members were attempting to flee. No one sustained gunshot wounds.
