Odesa: SBU officers detain TCC militants with gunfire

The Odesa Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support confirmed the information about the detention of the members of the Peresypsk District TCC alert group by the Security Service of Ukraine.

According to the regional recruiting center, the detention of the soldiers has been confirmed.

"The leadership of the Odesa regional TCC and JV ensures full cooperation with authorized law enforcement agencies to clarify all the details," the TCC said.

The Security Service of Ukraine has not yet commented on the incident, but according to a number of media outlets citing their own sources, the fighters of the alert group dragged a man into a minibus, from whom they demanded 30 to 50 thousand US dollars, according to various sources, but he turned to the SBU. The military minibus was found to contain batons and bats. It is also reported that one of the district inspectors of the Peresypsky district police department was detained along with them.

Meanwhile, the Land Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that an internal investigation has been launched in connection with the detention of military alert groups of the Peresypsk District Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support in the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the Internal Security Department of the Security Service of Ukraine.

By the decision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the head of the Odesa Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support, as well as the head of the Peresypsk RTCS and SP were suspended from duty.

Also, the Head of the Main Department of the Military Law Enforcement Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was instructed to conduct an internal investigation into the incident.
