Kherson’s municipal utilities will receive four more pickup trucks from international partners. The vehicles will help them respond more quickly to the aftermath of Russian shelling and carry out emergency repairs.

This was announced by Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.

According to him, the Kherson region has received the second tranche of previously agreed-upon aid from Germany’s Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW). Four more pickup trucks have arrived in the region, bringing the total number of vehicles provided under this support program to 12.

The final batch of vehicles will be transferred to Kherson’s municipal utilities. Thanks to the new vehicles, workers will be able to reach the sites of Russian attacks more quickly, address their consequences, and carry out emergency repair and restoration work more efficiently.

The head of the Kherson Regional State Administration thanked the German Federal Agency for Technical Assistance for supporting the region’s municipal and rescue services, noting that such assistance strengthens their ability to operate amid constant Russian shelling.

Earlier, the municipality of Bonn (Germany) provided Kherson with vital reinforcements for its transportation and municipal infrastructure. The community received a specialized Mercedes minibus adapted to transport people with limited mobility and those in wheelchairs, as well as a JCB 3CX backhoe loader. This aid was provided through the “Municipal Partnership for Civil Protection and Recovery in Ukraine” program, implemented by GIZ.

At the same time, another shipment of powerful generators arrived from the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW). The equipment is intended to support the city’s critical infrastructure in the event of power outages.
