The management of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi District Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support did not conduct any official investigations or analyses of the attack on the alert team that took place on May 16.

As Anatoliy Guz, the acting head of the Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support, explained at a meeting of the temporary investigative commission in the Verkhovna Rada, he was serving as deputy head of the Center at the time of the attack and was on leave.

He confirmed that he was aware of the attack and noted that the police are currently investigating the incident. However, he himself knows no more about the situation than what he has read in the media. The previous head was also acting in an interim capacity, and the position of head of the TCC has been vacant for over two years.

On May 16, a group of people—two men and a woman—attacked military personnel at the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, Odesa Oblast, and, threatening them with a rifle, took the conscript.

The incident occurred after the young man left the city clinic building, which was surrounded by TCC military personnel. According to eyewitnesses, shortly before this, the young man managed to call unknown individuals who were waiting for him outside.

Armed, reportedly with a hunting rifle, the men pointed their weapons at the doctors and beat the military personnel. They then fled the scene with the conscript. An “Interception Plan” was implemented in the city, and the perpetrators were apprehended shortly thereafter.

It should be noted that several cases specifically related to the Odesa Regional Territorial Recruitment Center were discussed at the TSC meeting. For example, it became known that the heads of the Peresypsky District Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support, who have been suspended from their official duties, continue to report for duty but do not perform their official duties due to their suspension.
