In New York, the Ukrainian Culture Festival will screen the film Editorial, filmed in the Kherson region. After the screening, the film crew will talk about the details of the film's creation.

This was reported by the organizers of the film.

According to the report, the screening will take place on October 7 at 19:00 at the Regal Essex Crossing cinema. After the screening, viewers will be able to talk to the film's director Roman Bondarchuk.

"The Editorial Board" is a comedy which was described by the American magazine Variety as "a satire of post-truth". The shooting of the film took place shortly before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, in particular in the Kherson region and the now-occupied Oleshky Sands. The film had its world premiere at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival in the Forum program.

The plot takes place in a southern town in the Kherson region. Yura, a scientist at a natural history museum, witnesses a deliberate forest arson and decides to tell the truth by joining the local newspaper. But instead, he finds himself in a world of fake news and corruption schemes: the mayoral election is coming up, and the main candidate continues to make promises while in a coma.

On the eve of the nationwide release, the film's team, headed by director Roman Bondarchuk, visited Odesa, where a special screening for journalists followed by a discussion took place. The screenings of TheEditorial started in Odesa on November 28, and in November and December, the creative team will hold pre-premiere screenings in Mykolaiv, Kherson, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Chernivtsi.

The film won the Best Feature Film award at the 9th Ukraina! Festiwal Filmowy, and at the opening of the Kyiv Critics' Week festival on October 17, the film was recognized as the winner of the Kinokolo Film Critics' Award for Best Screenplay. The world premiere took place on February 16 at the Berlin International Film Festival.

The 16th Odesa Film Festival also started in Kyiv on September 24. Over the course of 11 days, the audience will be able to watch 113 films, 104 of which are feature-length, in 18 programs. The competition includes the National Documentary Competition and the European Competition, which introduce the public to new talents and topical issues in contemporary cinema.
