The Prymorskyi District Court of Odesa has imposed a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention without bail on a 19-year-old man suspected of assaulting a cyclist, which resulted in the victim's hospitalization.

According to Suspilne, the prosecution insisted on keeping the suspect, Taha Khaleda, in custody, while the man himself and his lawyer asked the court to impose a measure of restraint in the form of house arrest with an electronic bracelet.

The victim's wife Natalia said that she learned about the incident from the janitor. According to him, the man was shot down in the street - two minibuses approached him, from which people in balaclavas ran out. Natalia said that her husband is in intensive care. Doctors diagnosed numerous injuries, including fractures of the ribs, shoulder blade, hip and joint damage.

The woman also noted that her husband has diabetes and is dependent on insulin.

"They are not going to operate now because his health is very unstable. We need to adjust his sugar level and other indicators, because his lung is also punctured," she said.

Earlier, a video was posted online showing the detainee getting out of the minibus and pushing a man on a bicycle, causing him to hit his head on the fence and not be able to get up. The attacker and another person in black civilian clothes who came out after him get back on the bus and disappear from the scene.

Social media claimed that the detainee was on the bus with the military of the Prymorskyi District Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support. On November 8, it became known that the man had been detained.
