Ivan Prosoyedov, the acting head of the occupation administration in Yevpatoria, will stand trial in Ukraine. He is accused of collaboration.

According to the Crimean Prosecutor’s Office, the indictment against the high-ranking official has already been submitted to the court.

According to the investigation, in 2024 he voluntarily agreed to temporarily serve as acting head of the illegal administration of Yevpatoria. To this end, he submitted a corresponding application, after which the so-called “Yevpatoria City Council” approved his candidacy.

In this position, he signed illegal regulatory acts and organized the work of the occupation administration’s departments. According to investigators, he facilitated the activities of the illegal authorities and promoted the implementation of Russian Federation policy on the occupied peninsula.

For these actions, he faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property. The prosecutor’s office has not named the accused, but according to media reports, it is Ivan Prosoyedov. In 2024, the so-called “Yevpatoria City Council” unanimously appointed him to temporarily serve as acting head of the occupation administration. Prior to that, he had served as the first deputy head of the administration.

Prosoedov took over the administration following the resignation of Yevpatoria’s occupation head, Olena Demidova. Crimean Gauleiter Sergey Aksyonov had previously announced her resignation.

Demidova’s predecessors also left their posts: one was sent to work at the Belgorod City Hall, while another, after serving in the Yevpatoria occupation administration, was implicated in a corruption case.
