The administration of the Ukrainian children's center "Young Guard" said that the Verkhovna Rada plans to seize 11 hectares of land without consulting the residents of Odesa.

According to the administration of the camp, this is an attempt to take away the coastline from the camp under the guise of the need for defense.

"The explanatory note to the draft law states that the draft act "does not require public consultations". And really, what is there to discuss - you can just start sawing off a piece of land on the coast to the sound of war. You can simply "make up a law" in which you can write with special cynicism: "the figures 33.9" (area of the territory) should be replaced with the figures "22.85", the figures "0.95" (beach area) should be replaced with the figures "0.62". Is there anything to discuss? After all, you can just steal, destroy, manipulate, lie," the Young Guard was outraged.

The Young Guard is a Ukrainian children's center located in Odesa in the Luzanivka park recreation area on the Black Sea. The Ukrainian children's center "Young Guard" has three camps: "Sunny", "Star" and "Coastal", the oldest of which, "Sea", is under reconstruction. Each of the camps has its own territory, sports grounds, ritual grounds, and canteens.

It should be noted that the explanatory note to the draft law proposes to reduce the area of land granted for permanent use to the Young Guard children's center from 33.9
hectares to 22.8 hectares in order to use 11.05 hectares in the interests of the Admiral Volodymyr Bezkorovainyi Naval Lyceum.

The implementation of the draft act will not have a negative impact on the market environment, ensuring the protection of the rights and interests of business entities, citizens and the state; regional development, increasing or decreasing the capacity of territorial communities; the labor market, employment rate; public health, improving or deteriorating the health of the population or its individual groups; ecology and the environment, the amount of natural resources, the level of air, water, land pollution, including pollution by waste.

In October 2025, the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office opened a criminal investigation into the possible embezzlement of state property at the Young Guard children's center.
