The appearance of actress Angelina Jolie in Ukraine caused a wave of discussion not only because of the actress herself, but also because of the people who came with her. The media reported that one of her companions had allegedly received a draft notice to the Ukrainian army while in the country.

This was reported by Politico.

This time, Jolie came to Kherson, a frontline city that is constantly under fire. She visited local medical facilities, talked to volunteers and war victims, continuing her humanitarian work independently of international organizations.

According to Politico, a Ukrainian government source said that one of Angelina Jolie's entourage members had a conflict with representatives of the military registration and enlistment office at one of the checkpoints. Ukrainian authorities are currently investigating the details of the incident.

According to the source, Jolie did not coordinate her visit with the Ukrainian government and crossed the border on foot, without official escort or warning of her arrival.

Separately, the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released a four-paragraph statement detailing the incident. It stated, among other things, that the actual recruit was Angelina Jolie's driver. However, the post was later deleted, and in a comment to the publication, they emphasized that they could neither confirm nor deny the information about the events at the checkpoint.

The army explained: ''The information disseminated in the media is distorted. We are checking and establishing all the circumstances.

Meanwhile, the Mykolaiv Regional Territorial Recruitment Center confirmed the incident. According to them, Jolie's driver is a military reservist and has received a summons to undergo military retraining.

It is unclear whether he was sent for training immediately or will arrive later. Angelina Jolie's representative did not provide any official comment.
