According to the investigation, the agent's task was to plant explosives with fragmentation elements in a playground in one of the residential districts of Odesa. Then, Russian special services planned to remotely activate the IED using a mobile phone with which the explosives were equipped.
The SBU operatives detained the suspect immediately after he planted the explosive device at the site of the planned terrorist attack.
The detainee was served a notice of suspicion under the following articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine
A custody without the right to be released on bail was chosen as a measure of restraint.
