In Odesa, over 200 million hryvnias were allocated from the city budget to support the military in the first four months of 2026. This is only a part of the total amount of 595 million. Some of the funds have already been used, while the rest remains in the funding plans.

This was reported by Halyna Savchenko, acting director of the Finance Department, during a session of the Odesa City Council.

According to Savchenko, these funds have already been distributed within the framework of existing programs and are used for the defense and security needs of the city.

The deputies also drew attention to significant unallocated funds. It is about UAH 1.3 billion that remains in the budget reserve fund.

In particular, the issue of the reserve fund was raised by MP Oleksiy Potapsky: "We have about UAH 1.3 billion that we can spend on the needs of the city. Why don't we distribute it? We have a lot of problems - housing and communal services, elevators, roofs, sewage."

The Department of Finance explained that these funds are not free. They have specific areas of use.

"The reserve fund can be used for public investment. The Investment Council has already approved an updated project portfolio, which includes about 300 projects," said Halyna Savchenko.

They also plan to leave part of the funds for unforeseen expenses. We are talking about eliminating the consequences of shelling, helping the victims and urgent work in the city.
