After the pseudo-elections, the resident of Simferopol became a "deputy of the regional council", actively contributed to the occupation regime and helped the Russian military. For this, he was suspected by the prosecutor's office.

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to the investigation, in September 2023, the suspect took part in the so-called "elections" in the temporarily occupied territory and became a deputy of the fake "Kherson Regional Duma" from the pro-Kremlin United Russia party. He was later appointed "deputy chairman of the committee on finance and budget" of this pseudo-representative body.

In his new "position", the suspect actively supported the occupation regime, facilitated the implementation of the decisions of the aggressor state and transferred humanitarian aid to the Russian military. He also dealt with issues of material support and social support for the Russian army.

The man was served in absentia a notice of suspicion of collaboration and assistance to the aggressor state. He is charged with Part 5 of Art. 111-1 and Part 1 of Art. 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The suspect faces 10 to 12 years in prison.

Meanwhile, a former Ukrainian citizen who voluntarily began working for the aggressor's authorities after the occupation of Crimea was sentenced in absentia.

Earlier, the autonomy's prosecutor's office sent to court an indictment against the general director of Tavrida Publishing and Printing House, who is suspected of aiding and abetting the organization and holding of illegal elections on the temporarily occupied territory of the peninsula.

Also, 11 "private entrepreneurs" of the annexed peninsula, who in 2022-2023 entered into "contracts" with the occupation penal colonies in Sevastopol and the so-called "Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation", were suspected.
