Olena and Gennadiy Shelestenko returned to the occupied part of Kherson region after an unsuccessful attempt to make a life in Russia, not far from Moscow. The occupation media are already spreading photos of their participation in propaganda events in Skadovsk and Henichesk.

This was reported by the Rayon. Skadovsk publication.

In particular, the couple holds meetings in schools where they force children to write letters to the Russian military, which is waging a war of aggression on the territory of Ukraine.

According to media reports, even before the full-scale invasion, the Shelestens were actively working for pro-Russian politicians in Kherson. They created propaganda materials in favor of Volodymyr Saldo and Dmytro Bolbot, both of whom are now openly serving the occupiers. Saldo has already been sentenced for high treason, and Bolbot has been notified of suspicion.

Under the guise of journalistic activity, the couple published a newspaper funded by Bolbot from unclear sources. They published paid-for materials and dirt on anyone who criticized pro-Russian forces. The publication was distributed free of charge among Kherson residents, trying to impose Kremlin narratives on them.

After the occupation of Kherson, the Shelestenkos immediately openly sided with Russia. However, their career as collaborators did not work out: at first they fled to the left-bank part of the Kherson region, and from there to the Moscow region, hoping for a comfortable life with Russian support. However, social benefits turned out to be meager, and they did not have enough money to buy real estate. Even filming in Russian propaganda media did not bring the expected income.

Left without a stable income, the Shelestens returned to the occupied Kherson region, where they now work in schools, helping the Russians to indoctrinate children. Due to the lack of teachers, the occupiers are actively recruiting anyone who is willing to promote their propaganda.
