A former SBU officer, he is suspected of high treason and spreading pro-Russian propaganda through social media. He is accused of supporting Russian aggression, calling for the overthrow of the constitutional order and waging war against Ukraine.

This was stated in the suspicion of the Prosecutor General's Office.

According to the prosecutor's office, Denys Viktorovych Belahin, a citizen of Ukraine who served in operational positions in the Security Service of Ukraine and lived in Pryluky from May 2012 to May 2017, is suspected of high treason and spreading pro-Russian propaganda.

It is known that, having knowledge of the methods of intelligence and subversive activities and information warfare, since 2022, Belagin has been posting on his Odnoklassniki page calling for the overthrow of the constitutional order in Ukraine, changing state borders, waging an aggressive war and supporting the armed aggression of the aggressor state.

According to the investigation, Belagin repeatedly distributed pro-Russian publications. In particular, on September 19, 2024, he liked a post with images of military equipment against the background of the Russian flag calling for support for the so-called special operation in Ukraine, and also distributed posts with calls beginning with the words "Putin is a fighter" and ending with the words "he is doing everything right." He also pointed out in the post that the Baltic states should also prepare for the Ukrainian scenario.

In addition, not earlier than June 2023, while in the occupied territory of Crimea, Belagin posted a post with a picture of Ramzan Kadyrov, which contained calls for an aggressive war.

Based on the totality of these actions, Denis Belagin is suspected of aiding the aggressor state, spreading calls for aggressive war, overthrowing the constitutional order and other crimes under Articles 111-2, 436, 110 and 109 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The investigation is currently ongoing.
