On the night of May 2, Russian troops once again attacked the port in Odesa region, causing fires.
This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service.
The shelling damaged the warehouse and outbuildings. No one was killed or injured. The local fires were extinguished by the personnel and units of the State Emergency Service. At night, the head of the Odesa regional military administration, Oleh Kiper, reported a threat to the Izmail district, so the port on the Danube was affected.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the night of May 2, the enemy attacked with 163 Shahed-type attack UAVs, including jet, Gerbera, Italmass and other types of drones.
According to preliminary data, as of 8:00 a.m., air defense neutralized 142 enemy Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones in the north, south and east of the country.
There were 17 hits by attack drones at 12 locations, as well as the fall of downed drones (wreckage) at two locations.
The night before, Odesa was once again filled with explosions and sirens as the city came under another air attack. As a result of the strikes, fires broke out in high-rise buildings, and the region's port infrastructure was hit.
The occupiers also struck at the port infrastructure in Izmail district. Emergency services worked there and quickly extinguished the fire. There were no casualties. At the same time, information on the extent of the destruction and possible damage is still being clarified.
On the night of April 30, Russian forces launched a massive drone attack on Odesa, targeting residential buildings and civilian infrastructure. The nighttime attack resulted in 20 injuries.
