Russian troops strike Izmail port with shaheds

At night, the Russian army attacked Izmail district with kamikaze drones. There was damage to port infrastructure, fires and a wounded civilian.

On the night of August 20, Russian troops, continuing the war and invasion of Ukraine, attacked the Izmail district using unmanned aerial vehicles - Shahed kamikaze drones.

According to the press service, despite the active work of the Air Defense Forces, they could not completely avoid hits. The attack damaged port infrastructure facilities. Fires broke out on the territory, and rescuers were called in to extinguish them.

One person was injured in the strike and is receiving all necessary medical care.

According to the press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Odesa region, the strikes caused a large-scale fire at a fuel and energy infrastructure facility. Fifty-four rescuers and 16 vehicles were involved in the response to the attack. A fire train from Ukrzaliznytsia and a local fire brigade also took part in the extinguishing of the fire.

On August 18, a large-scale fire broke out at a fuel and energy infrastructure facility as a result of the shelling. More than 100 rescuers, volunteers, firefighters from the National Guard of Ukraine and local fire brigades were involved in the response to the enemy attack. In addition, the attack set fire to a two-story residential building, which, according to the State Emergency Service, was unoccupied at the time of the attack.

On the night of August 8, the enemy attacked again with attack drones. The hits partially destroyed the building of the sewage pumping station. In addition, the administrative and technical buildings of one of the enterprises in the suburbs were damaged. A security guard at the gas station was injured when the blast wave broke his glass.

On the night of August 6, the Odesa region was attacked by enemy drones, with explosions and large-scale fires in the Izmail district. Despite the work of air defense forces, the gas infrastructure was damaged, causing a fire, which was extinguished by rescuers. The damage to the main gas pipeline left about 2,500 customers without gas supply.
