An employee of the regional office of the Russian Federal Security Service in the Tyumen region participated in the illegal detention and torture of at least five civilians in Kherson.
According to the Kherson regional prosecutor's office, during the occupation of Kherson, members of the Russian National Guard took control of a temporary detention center. In this detention center, the occupiers held civilians and abused them. The detainees were forced to provide information of interest to the enemy, using physical and psychological violence, including torture. Later, the suspect was involved in these illegal actions.
He participated in the illegal detention and torture of at least five civilians. The detainees were held in inhumane conditions - without access to food, water and in unsanitary conditions. The suspect personally conducted interrogations during which violence was used: beatings, electric shocks, nudity, etc. Such methods were used to force the victims to confess to cooperation with the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Under the procedural supervision of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, the officer was served in absentia a notice of suspicion of cruel treatment of civilians and other violations of the laws and customs of war, as well as of ordering such actions.
Earlier, law enforcement officers identified an employee of the Russian Interior Ministry who interrogated and tortured a resident of Kherson during the occupation. The policeman first hit the illegally imprisoned man 30 times on the body with a rubber truncheon, then picked up a grinder and threatened to cut off his fingers and hands. After that, to intimidate the victim, the offender pointed a gun at him and simulated shooting him. Finally, the Russian attacker inflicted at least 15 more blows with a rubber baton and sent the man to the cell.
