As part of the "Side by Side" project, communities in Rivne and Khmelnytskyi oblasts will help rebuild the right bank of the Kherson region.

According to Oleksiy Kuleba, Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine, Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, the communities have started to restore damaged houses together, continue to strengthen the energy independence of border settlements, hold joint events for children, and support veterans and internally displaced persons.

"As of today, the Varaska community of the Rivne Oblast has prepared a subvention for the Borozenska community to equip a shelter in a local school, and the Rassoshanska community of the Khmelnytskyi Oblast will equip a shelter in the school of the Dariivska community," the official said.

"Side by Side" is a national project to unite partner communities (rear and central communities of Ukraine) to support and restore outpost communities (communities located along the border and on the contact line, where a significant part of infrastructure is damaged and destroyed). The project started its activities in the Kherson region in July 2023.

Earlier it was mentioned that Cherkasy region is helping to rebuild an educational institution in Vysokopillya in Kherson region as part of the President of Ukraine's "Side by Side" initiative. Windows were replaced, roofs were repaired, and heating and power supply systems were installed on the first and second floors.

In addition, Kherson officials were trained at the Recovery School. This educational project was founded by the NGO Mariupol.Reborn together with the Association of Ukrainian Cities to teach people how to effectively restore infrastructure and return people to their homes.
