Residents of Mykolaiv region owe UAH 222 million for heating

Residents of the Mykolaiv region owe over two hundred million hryvnias for heat supply. As part of measures to reduce the debt, almost 200,000 pre-trial notices were sent to debtors.

This was reported by the press service of Mykolaivoblteploenergo.

According to the press service, in order to reduce payments for heating services, specialists from the debt management department regularly work with all categories of consumers to resolve claims. The pre-trial sector inspectors inform subscribers who have debts to the company both personally at their place of residence and by phone.

Between January and October 2024, the department's specialists provided 189 thousand pre-trial notices to individuals and 747 to legal entities.

For comparison, in 2023, individuals received 256 thousand such notifications, and legal entities - 1,181.

As of October 2024, consumers of Mykolaivoblteploenergo owed the company more than UAH 222 million for heat supply services, of which UAH 89 million was for the debt for the last heating season.

In addition, residents of Mykolaiv have also accumulated debts to Mykolaivska CHP for heat supply. In August, the debt amounted to UAH 137 million. The legal department has already filed more than 1500 lawsuits to enforce the debt.

The city residents have also accumulated huge debts for water to Mykolaivvodokanal. The company promises to sue persistent debtors. As of 2024, the city's total debt to the company amounted to UAH 248 million. In August alone, the debt increased by UAH 672 thousand.

In the south of Ukraine, the total number of consumers with utility bills is 49,515. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the amount of utility debt has increased by one third. Mykolaiv region has the highest number of debtors among the southern regions - 29,341 people. The second place is occupied by Odesa region with 14,854 debtors, and the third place is occupied by Kherson region with only 5,320 debtors.
