Service members from the Podil Detachment detained four Kyiv residents who were heading toward the Transnistrian section of the Ukrainian-Moldovan border in the Odesa region.

According to the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, operatives determined that the men were following instructions from an organizer—the administrator of one of the Telegram channels.

On his advice, they purchased military gear— camouflage uniforms, combat boots, and backpacks—to make themselves less conspicuous. They also armed themselves with wire cutters and ropes to quickly overcome engineering barriers. For organizing the illegal crossing into neighboring Moldova, the administrator received $6,500 from each client via a cryptocurrency wallet.

Reports of administrative offenses were filed against the residents of the capital for illegally crossing or attempting to illegally cross Ukraine’s state border. The cases have been referred to court.

Earlier, officers of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the police detained a 56-year-old executive of a company specializing in international freight transport in the Odesa region. To carry out the scheme, he fictitiously employed people wishing to travel abroad and entered their data into the “Shlyakh” information system as international truck drivers.

Also, in May, the command of the 25th Border Guard Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine banned the use of dirt roads within its area of responsibility. Border guards explained that an analysis of the situation within their area of responsibility indicated that violators of the state border and their accomplices were actively using dirt roads leading to the state border.
