In Mykolaiv region, demining of territories, including water bodies, continues. Representatives of UNDP and Denmark have seen how the region's water bodies are being cleared of explosive ordnance.
According to the press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv region, a delegation from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine and the head of the Danish Embassy in Mykolaiv, Jakob Torrild Hansen, visited the site of the underwater work. The partners personally familiarized themselves with the process of clearing water bodies of explosive ordnance and talked to specialists working in difficult and risky conditions. The visit gave representatives of UNDP and the Danish Embassy an opportunity to better understand the specifics of underwater demining, one of the most dangerous areas of demining in the region.

The post says that underwater work does not stop even in late autumn - favorable weather allows SES divers to perform tasks on a daily basis. The guests saw divers conducting an underwater survey of the site, including using the Deep Trekker Revolution underwater unmanned vehicle. Earlier this year, SES rescuers received 16 such underwater robots with the support of UNDP and funding from the governments of the Republic of Korea, France and New Zealand. The robot was used today to find and remove the remains of a UAV and a cluster submunition. It also demonstrated how to mark the hazardous area, lift and transport the discovered munitions.

Earlier it was noted that on April 28, 2023, the Mykolaiv-based company Nibulon became a mine action operator and received the first certificate for humanitarian demining - a certificate from the Center for Mine Action of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine for non-technical survey of territories.
Mykolaiv scouts also received high-tech radio stations. This equipment was handed over to the defenders by members of the management of JSC "Mykolaivoblenergo".
