The bail of Kherson City Council deputy Karamalikov, who is accused of treason, has been reduced. The prosecutor's office has also reduced the scope of charges against him, and his lawyers deny that there is evidence of his guilt.

This was reported by MOST.

The panel of judges of the Pokrovsky District Court of Kryvyi Rih reduced the bail of Kherson City Council deputy Ilya Karamalikov, who is accused of treason.

According to the court ruling published in the Unified Register of Court Decisions, the defense and prosecution motions were partially granted. The suspected MP's bail was extended, reducing it to one and a half thousand subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons - UAH 4 million 542 thousand.

Earlier, in early March 2025, the MP was allowed to leave the pre-trial detention center on bail of UAH 9 million, which was later reduced to UAH 6 million, but he did not pay it.

In May 2025, the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office reduced the number of charges against Karamalikov: three of the four episodes were dropped.

Lawyer Mykhailo Velychko noted that there was no evidence of the MP's involvement in the extradition of pro-Ukrainian activists to Russia, the distribution of Russian "humanitarian aid" or the resettlement and repair of Russian equipment.

On April 16, 2022, the SBU detained Ilya Karamalikov when he and his family tried to leave for Odesa. The SBU officially confirmed the detention only on April 21.

According to the investigation, the MP headed the local self-defense, the so-called people's guard, which patrolled the city, prevented looting and maintained order during the Russian occupation. However, on March 15, 2022, his subordinates detained a wounded Russian pilot, and the question arose as to what to do with him. Karamalikov claimed that during the occupation he had no choice but to let the pilot go, as he was already burying Ukrainian soldiers and could not leave the city.
