Today, November 11, on the anniversary of the liberation of Kherson from Russian invaders, President Zelensky visited the city.

This became known from the official Telegram channel of Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"Today in Kherson. It is the third anniversary of the liberation of the city from the Russians - the occupiers fled from here, and we remember how the courage of our people made it happen, how Ukrainian flags returned to the city - the city of Kherson. I thank each of our soldiers who fought for Kherson, each of those who are defending this beautiful city now - the lives of our people. '' Zelensky said.

The President said that today he had held a meeting in Kherson with all those responsible for security, including the military, including representatives of the Unmanned Systems Forces. During the meeting, a set of measures was identified to strengthen the protection of the city. The Head of State emphasized that Kherson faced thousands of attacks by Russian drones every month, which posed a virtually constant threat.

The President instructed the Unmanned Systems Forces, Magyar Birds and other units to increase their capabilities aimed specifically at protecting Kherson and emphasized the importance of prompt implementation of these decisions. In addition, tasks were set to ensure the protection of logistics routes and roads, with which government officials should help.

Today, Kherson is a ghost town where life pulsates underground and drones circle over the rooftops. The locals have learned to survive amidst the explosions and empty streets, clinging to the memory of the day when the Ukrainian flag reappeared.

The once-crowded streets were empty, and life moved underground to basements that became schools, gyms, and shelters. On November 11, 2022, Kherson residents came to the square with Ukrainian flags, hugged the military, and believed that the worst was over.

But the war did not disappear - it just changed its form. Russian artillery is firing across the Dnipro, and drones are hovering over rooftops with broken windows around the clock. Those who stayed behind say that even under fire, life without the occupiers is easier.
