Police tracked down and detained a man who had stolen a car of the territorial center for recruitment and social support, which was supposed to take him to the TSC.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa Oblast.

The man has now been notified of suspicion of illegal possession of a vehicle, passport and other important personal documents.

The incident occurred in early August. According to the investigation, the 43-year-old citizen got into a company car and, despite the driver standing nearby who was supposed to take the passenger to the medical examination center, suddenly jumped into the front seat and drove away.

At the time, eyewitnesses also claimed that there were three other mobilized soldiers in the car, but the police have not yet confirmed this information.

He leftthe car on the outskirts of the village and went home, taking the driver's bag with important personal documents from the car.

Officers of the territorial police unit tracked down the offender and seized his belongings.

The man confessed that he had not prepared for the crime, but had committed it spontaneously. He has now been placed under house arrest, and if the court finds him guilty of carjacking, he faces restriction of liberty for a term of three to five years or imprisonment for the same term, while the law punishes the theft of documents with a fine of up to fifty tax-free minimum incomes or probationary supervision for up to three years or restriction of liberty for the same term.

On August 14, two days after the incident with the TCC car theft, a video was posted online, which the regional TCC called defamatory. During a routine inspection, one citizen tried to escape, and several people resisted. In the video, the man is being dragged out of the service station by his feet.
