Odesa student wins international competition in forensics

Daria Babiuk , a fourth-year student of the I. Mechnikov Odesa National University, won the International Competition of Scientific Papers in Criminalistics "Military Field Criminalistics".

This was reported by the press service of the Faculty of Economics and Law.

This competition was organized by the IntelligenTrident Center for Forensic Innovation of the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University. The winner was awarded a diploma and a unique specially commissioned publication - an aerial photo album "Kharkiv in the Angelic Perspective" created to promote "Unbreakable Law Schools" and Kharkiv, which continues to live with science, culture and education even in the most difficult times, in Ukraine and around the world.

Daria Babiuk won the competition with her paper on "Forensic identification of war crimes: from biometric technologies to OSINT investigations". The competition is annual and was held for the fifth time this year. According to ONU, Daria Babiuk worked on her research paper in the summer, during the holidays.

Other winners of the competition were Anastasia Antoniuk and Anastasia Sidak, third-year students of the Military Law Institute of the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University, co-authors of the research paper "International Legal Regulation of UAVs in Military Conflicts: Problems and Prospects." And also Maryna Demediuk, a student of the 201 CE group (specialization "Forensic Science") of the Educational and Scientific Forensic Institute of the National Academy of Internal Affairs, author of the research paper "Methodology for Investigating Crimes of Aggression and War Crimes".
