Odesa reports the death of artist Bohdan Chufus

Actor, singer, member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, announcer of Odesa TV, People's Artist of Ukraine Bohdan Chufus died on January 2, 2026.

This was reported by the actor's friends.

In particular, Olena Starodubtseva, head of the director's department at the Odesa National Opera and Ballet Theater.

"A great man, a talented actor (People's Artist of Ukraine), author of many creative human programs on Odesa State Television, Bohdan Chufus, has passed away," she wrote.

The head of the literary department of the Odesa Academic Puppet Theater, Yuriy Yushchenko , also announced the death of the artist .

"Bohdan Chufus has passed away," the theater employee wrote .

Bohdan Chufus was born in Ivano-Frankivsk, but from 1977 to 2005 he worked at the Odesa Drama Theater. From 2005 to the present, he has worked at Odesa television. He was awarded the title of People's Artist of Ukraine. He played hundreds of roles on the stage of theaters, including the female role of old Elizabeth Franzivna in the comedy by I. Pikovsky's comedy "Golden Times".

He acted in a number of films: "Echo in the Wilderness" (1977), "Comedy Cocktail" (2003). Performer of Ukrainian folk songs.

Formerly a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine and an honorary citizen of Bilyayivka, Odesa region, Valerii Syrov died on December 20 at the age of 76. The artist died on the eve of his birthday - he would have turned 77 on December 22.

Also on December 4, Ivan Makedonsky, a longtime leader and statesman of Bolhrad district and Odesa region, died at the age of 84. He was an advisor to the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, and since 2003 he has headed the Odesa Regional Organization of the Trade Union of Agricultural Workers of Ukraine.
