Artist Valerii Syrov died in Odesa region

Valeriy Syrov, a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine and an honorary citizen of Bilyayivka, Odesa Oblast, died on December 20 at the age of 76.

This was reported by the press service of the Bilyayivka City Council.

As noted in the city council, the artist died on the eve of his birthday - he would have turned 77 on December 22. The city council characterized Valeriy Syrov as a legendary man, an incredibly talented artist. He was the winner of the nomination Creative Personality of Bilyayivka, sincerely in love with this city and its people.

Valerii Syrov moved to Bilyaivka, Odesa region, for permanent residence in 1977. In the same year, he started working in the Bilyayivka Art Workshop, Odesa Art Fund and at the same time started exhibiting his works.

The artist works in various techniques: painting, graphics, decorative and applied arts; he is recognized as a master of monotype and watercolor. The subjects of his works are the nature of Ukraine, landscape, still life. He had an individual creative style.

The artist's personal exhibitions were held in the Bilyayivka City House of Culture, Odesa Actor's House, the Museum of Eastern and Western Art, the art gallery of the Odesa State University named after Mechnikov, the Odesa House of the National Museum of Art. Mechnikov, Odesa House of Scientists, World Club of Odessans, Odesa Agricultural University Art Gallery, Blishchunov Museum of Private Collections, Dialogue Art Gallery in Odesa, Odesa Art Museum, Pushkin Museum-Apartment in Odesa, Odesa City Council, Victory Gardens and Oleksandrivskyi Park Art Galleries.

Foreign, international, and group exhibitions of the artist were held in Serbia, Italy, Finland, Japan, Mexico, Russia, and Greece.
