Odesa Knights capture an attack aircraft from Egypt

Soldiers of the 28th Odesa Brigade defeated an enemy subversive group in Donbas and captured a foreign mercenary.

This was reported by the press service of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign.

According to the military, the daily attacks of the Russian occupiers in the Toretsk sector do not stop, and each time the enemy's losses are only increasing. The latest attack confirmed that even an increase in the number of attackers to 20 people does not give them a chance to break through the defense of the "knights" of the 28th separate mechanized brigade.

Under the cover of fog, a group of occupants approached the positions of Ukrainian defenders. However, they were immediately met with heavy fire from the infantrymen of the 2nd Mechanized Battalion. Part of the attack group was destroyed on the spot. One of the attackers, saving his life, fell into a trench where a dead occupier had previously been lying. However, the Ukrainian military quickly "smoked" him out with grenades.

"The rest of the attack group began to run away, hide and pretend to be eliminated. However, everyone was caught by the pilots of the Unmanned Systems Battalion and Kurt & Company," the brigade said.

According to them, only one occupant managed to survive and surrendered. As it turned out, he was an Egyptian citizen. He was probably recruited by the Russian side to take part in the fighting. Due to the language barrier, the Ukrainian military had to explain the terms of surrender to him in gestures.

Intent talked to the commander of a unit of the 28th Brigade that defended Voznesensk from Russian invaders. Soldier "Kurt" said that during the retreat, Russian soldiers left equipment, documents and the bodies of their dead on the battlefield.

Local residents played an important role in the victory by providing the correct coordinates and supporting the morale of the military. According to the soldier, the main goal of the Russians was Odesa.

Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree awarding Serhiy Tkachuk, battalion commander of the 28th separate mechanized brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign, with the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, III degree.
