At the XXXVIII session of the Odesa City Council of the VIII convocation, which is scheduled for February 5 at 10 am, deputies will be asked to vote on almost 60 draft decisions.

The elected representatives will have the opportunity to amend the budget, set taxes and fees, as well as to terminate the powers of Oleh Filimonov, a deputy from the Servant of the People party, and to include Antonina Kaprosh, a deputy of the Odesa City Council from the Trust the Deeds party, in the Standing Committee on Social Policy and Labor.

In addition, in the budget block, the deputies should make changes to some targeted programs. For example, to the City Target Program for the Development of Electric Transport in Odesa for 2022-2026. The deputies should add UAH 50 million for the purchase of 9 new trolleybuses. The estimated amount of funding was calculated based on 2021 prices.

The deputies may also be asked to amend the program "Youth of Odesa - 2023-2025" and allocate 40 million for the repair of the building where the Youth Municipal Center is planned to be located. It should be noted that the commission on education, sports and interaction with public organizations approved the changes, while the commission on planning, budget and finance did not.

It should be noted that Intent will traditionally broadcast the meetings online.

The previous regular session, which was the last one in 2024, took place in December 2024. During the session, the deputies asked the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to regulate the issue of receiving compensation for damaged property under the eRestoration program by residents of residential buildings with the status of cultural heritage monuments.

They also quadrupled the financial assistance to people whose homes were damaged by Russian shelling. In the city's budget for the next 2025, the deputies have allocated more than UAH 92 million to restore residential buildings damaged by Russian strikes.

However, on December 20, an extraordinary session was held to promptly address issues of support for orphans and large families. It was about six individual houses with land plots, which will be purchased at the expense of a subvention from the state budget.
