Members of the Odesa City Council supported the candidacy of Alla Bekh for the post of Deputy Mayor of Odesa.

The decision was made during a session on December 12.

Alla Bekh has been acting as deputy mayor since December 2 by appointment of acting mayor Igor Koval, who has been heading the city council since Gennadiy Trukhanov was dismissed.

Alla Bekh is a lawyer by training and holds a master's degree in public management and administration. She has worked in tax authorities and the State Audit Service, including as deputy head of the State Tax Service in Zhytomyr region.

According to media reports, in 2023, Alla Bekh purchased a 2017 Porsche Macan at auction for $12,000. Taking into account delivery, customs clearance, repairs and the first registration, the total cost of the car was more than $26 thousand. At the same time, her declarations are not publicly available, making it impossible to verify her sources of income.

The journalists note that even with the sale of her previous car, a 2014 Renault Megane, a significant additional amount had to be paid to buy the luxury SUV.

If necessary, I can prepare a brief background on Bekh's career or the public reaction to this appointment.

Currently, acting Mayor Igor Koval has four deputies: First Deputy Oleksandr Filatov, acting deputies Volodymyr Domnitsak and Kostyantyn Talalaev, and manager of affairs Oleksandr Tikhovsky. Alla Bekh became the fifth.

For comparison, the head of the Odesa military administration, Serhiy Lysak, has four deputies: First Deputy Nadiya Zadorozhna, Serhiy Krasilenko, Olga Lozova, and Hennadiy Raskin.

Earlier, the acting mayor of Odesa decided to dismiss Valeriy Silin from the post of deputy mayor. The dismissal took place on the basis of the official's personal statement. In addition, the former official is to be paid monetary compensation for 98 calendar days of unused annual leave.

Serhiy Kondratyuk, the head of the Peresypskyi district administration of Odesa, was also recently dismissed. His duties were transferred to the first deputy Svyatoslav Glazanovsky.
