The fleet of Danube ports in Odesa region has been replenished with a new pilot boat, Lotsman Cheberiakov.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

It was noted that this is the second vessel built at the shipyard in Izmir, Turkey, and the third one funded by American partners. The new boat will play an important role in the stable operation of ports and ensuring the safety of navigation.

Oleksandr Semyryga, CEO of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, emphasized that the commissioning of this boat is an important step in strengthening the fleet.

He emphasized that despite the difficult wartime conditions, threats from the air and water, USPA continues to fulfill its key tasks.

In July 2024, the national flag was raised in the seaport of Rennes on the pilot boat GennadiyZhuravkov, which was on duty. This boat was built in Ukraine with funding from USAID under the Economic Support for Ukraine Project.

Meanwhile, the southern branch of USPA has selected Odessos as the contractor for the repair of the boat. The budget for the work was set at UAH 12 million, but the winning bidder reduced the price. Two companies took part in the tender for the repair of Odessos: Kherson Fleet Service LLC and ISRZ PJSC. Kherson Fleet Service LLC offered the best price, which amounted to UAH 11.24 million. In turn, the offer of ISRZ PJSC was higher by UAH 640 thousand. After a detailed evaluation, the winner was selected - Kherson Fleet Service, which will carry out the repair of the Odessos.

Under the terms of the contract, the work includes not only the elimination of technical malfunctions of the vessel but also the comprehensive restoration of its main functions for further use in Ukrainian seaports. The contractor must maintain the vessel until December 31, 2025. Earlier, the Southern Branch of SE USPA held a tender to select a company that will be paid for the maintenance of the vessels.
