The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine has uncovered a large-scale scheme to embezzle grain belonging to the state reserve at the state-owned enterprise Khlibna Baza No. 76 in the village of Kavuny, Pervomaisky district of Mykolaiv region.
The investigation believes that since October 2020, the conspirators have illegally exported and sold more than 1,300 tons of wheat and barley worth more than UAH 12 million. The case focuses on the former deputy head of the State Reserve, the management of the state-owned enterprise, and representatives of the private company Grad-Alfa.
According to the NABU, the grain that remained in storage as part of the state reserve was sold under the guise of 'surplus' without proper authorization. Part of the case is currently being heard in court, while the rest is at the pre-trial investigation stage. According to YouControl, the Bread Base No. 76 continues to operate. Viktor Reshetnyak is currently acting director.
The sale of municipal real estate in Mykolaiv managed to earn 20 million. At a session of the city council, it was reported that 14 municipal properties that were put up for auction for sale generated almost 20 million, which is twice the starting price of the properties. The discussion took place in the context of a proposal to amend the City Council's decision "On Approval of the List of Small-scale Privatization of Communal Property of Mykolaiv City Territorial Community Subject to Privatization by Auction."
On July 31, at the regular session of the Mykolaiv City Council, current, budgetary, and land issues were discussed on the agenda. According to the draft decisions, the deputies were offered to increase the revenue side of the budget of the Mykolaiv city territorial community by UAH 293.2 million by increasing the volume of interbudgetary transfers.
